Artistic Director

David Vanderbout

David Vanderbout is honored to build upon the Chorale’s mission of enriching our community through high-quality and diverse chorale performances in his role as Artistic Director.

In addition to serving as the Chorale’s Artistic Director, David is the Director of Choral Music at Jesuit High School, where he enjoys working with students to discover and foster a passion for choral music and build community.

David received his Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Bachelor of Music in Music Education from California State University, Sacramento. In addition to his teaching duties, David performs regularly as a soloist and in ensembles throughout the region.

Accompanist

Johathan Doram

Jonathan is a California-based conductor, composer, writer, and collaborative pianist. He previously taught choir at Forest Heights STEM Academy and Lincoln College Prep Academy, where his choirs raised thousands for charitable causes, earned Superior ratings, and performed at Arrowhead Stadium and Kauffman Performing Arts Center.

His choral commissions have been published and performed by schools and community choirs across multiple states. As a member of several instrumental and vocal ensembles, Jonathan has performed both internationally and nationally. His creative work extends to writing, including his poem "hearts held in common heal green" which won the 2023 Kansas City Literary Lens Poetry Prize, and his play The Rainbow on Trial which won Audience Favorite at the 2024 Alphabet Soup Festival.

He currently works as Organist and Pianist at Northminster Presbyterian Church and plays for the Sacramento Ballet. He enjoys reading fantasy, playing tennis and pickleball, and eating Thai and Ethiopian food.
